Remember when they'd give you those yellow smiley stickers when you came into Wal-Mart? Do they still do that?

Procrastination
I am the worst at this time of the semester. I always fall behind.(Self fulfulling prophecy?)
One thing exciting - I started a phlebotomy class and its really fun and exciting. Plus my teacher is a Class-A Hottie! So that's an extra little sumpin' sumpin'...ha ha.
Also - I hate knitting. I started this scarf last October and I pulled it out because of guilt. I told Jordan I'd make him a scarf, little did I know they take FOREVER! That's why only old people do it because they have all the time in the world. Which gives me an idea...I do work in a retirement home...maybe I'll have to outsource my workload.
Lastly - frustration! I can't find the latest Gossip Girl episode, so I had to watch Kath and Kim...not quite sure if I like it or not.

Plum Pudding
I was so nervous when I bought 2 loaves of bread from costco a couple weeks ago. How would I ever eat both of them before they go bad? Well I'm almost done with the second one and there are no signs of bluish greenish furry balls - so that's good!
Carmen and I have exercised everyday for a week straight, and no plans of stopping. Good for us!
I woke up this morning with a sore throat - that's the worst.
FredFlare has the best stuff ever. I wish I could buy it all. Click here, here, and here for my favorites.
Could you calculate the frequecy of the color of this

jewel blue guitar if the wavelength was 450 nanometers? Because I could - sheesh I'm gonna rock my chem test.
Last - and least - I HATE Spencer Pratt. I would like to meet him and then do something really bad to him...
BOO SPENCER!!

My Name
Friday, August 22, 2008
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet...
Do you ever favor a certain nailpolish because of it's name?
So today at work I was looking through the nailpolishes and I found this nasty black one - it was called Midnight in Moscow. AH! I painted my fingers with black Midnight in Moscow. I feel so cool.

Thoughts
Last week we moved from South Jordan to Herriman. Moving is hard - really hard. Even with five kids plus 2 parents. Even though most of the time my dad was working and so was my mother for that matter - it was just us 5 and McKay is no help...I'm fully decided that I hate moving.
So it started with the food storage - tons of food storage that I would have gladly left in the basement if the prophet didn't have a say in it. Then it just seemed like there was just never ending THINGS everywhere! We didn't get a moving truck till later - so we just filled up our mormon-van (which is huge, but not huge enough) like a million times over - back and forth from house to house. I was so sick and tired of moving by Thursday I didn't think I could stand it anymore. But we still had all the cleaning to do. I could have cried when the Relief Society showed up to help us. (Now comes the cheesy part) It's called the RELIEF Society for a reason. They cleaned the whole kitchen, the basement, the bedrooms, the living room - all I did was the stair case! Those women and young women were awesome!
The weird thing is that I've never liked that ward, the Highland 3rd Ward. I moved into it my senior year of high school and I was not a happy camper- then I went to college, so most of the people I have no clue who they are. But on our last Sunday (which was fast Sunday) when my mom was bearing her testimony I was crying, and I couldn't stop.(FYI I never do that) Because I would really miss that ward. I started thinking about all the things that those people did for me and for us and I was really grateful. I just really felt their service and love, and it was sad and good at the same time.
I just felt the need to share that - I'm grateful for the Relief Society and our wards and the close ties that we make through service for each other. :)
On another happy note - I passed all my classes this summer and I only have one more class left until I can get on the waiting list for the Nursing Program. Hooray!

World's Oldest Blogger
So the world's oldest blogger died on Saturday at 108 years old. She was from Australia. She told a story of how 'washing day' when she was little and someone made it into a poem. I thought it was neat so I'm sharing it with all :
FOR OLIVE RILEY The World's Oldest Blogger
Sometimes, I hear the young complain of all they have to do.But I am sure that their complaints should really be quite few.Take Washing Day, for instance, all they do is press a knob,And then machines go whirling round and quickly do the job.
They throw in powder, maybe bleach, and softener as well,And dirty clothes are whirled about, then spun around, pell-mell.And then, to follow up, I hear, they set the dryer spinning,They've hardly raised a finger to the end from the beginning.
But things were very different in the days of long ago,When Olive Riley's mother washed her clothes as white as snow. And Olive well-remembers that, when it was Washing Day,Daughters had to do their bit; there was no time for play.
First Olive looked for firewood, which was sometimes hard to find,She had to hunt for broken twigs or sticks of any kind.Sometimes she found a fruit-box that was thrown down on the floor. She chopped it with a tomahawk, though it made her fingers sore.
After filling up the copper, her Mum would light the fire,And the water would start heating, as the flames grew ever higher. Then she threw in some soap chips, followed by Reckitt's Blue,(That was a clever little bag that made things look like new.)
Next she got the Sunlight Soap to scrub at all the stains,And, sometimes, if she scrubbed too hard, there were blisters for her pains. The corrugated board was rough, her hands were roughened too,Ruined by years of scrubbing, but what else was there to do?
Then, she threw in the dirty clothes, and gave them all a stir. The steam rose up in clouds and very nearly smothered her.She was splashed by boiling water, and the bubbles stung her eyes. And a line of snowy washing was to be her only prize!
Yet, now, would come the starching, of the collar and the cuff,And, however hard she starched them, it was never quite enough. For Father must look perfect when in his Sunday Best,He mustn't look inferior, measured against the rest.
At last, the clothes were clean and rinsed and the fire had lost its heat.Mother was quite exhausted, after so long on her feet. But the hardest job was yet to come, an energetic trick,For she had to get the clothes out with a hefty copper-stick!
Imagine sheets all water-logged and weighing half a ton!Her back was nearly broken by the time that job was done.A soggy mass lay, wetly, in a tub, somewhere nearby. The washing was as clean as clean, but not the least bit dry.
Now Olive had a job to do, though she was scarcely grown,For Mother couldn't mangle all the washing on her own.Between the wooden rollers Mother fed the dripping clothes,While Olive turned the handle, standing on tippy-toes.
The mangle squeezed the water, it came quickly pouring out,But the washing was still wet and heavy, that I do not doubt. But Olive and her Mother had to drag it to the trees,Where a line was stretched, so washing could be dried off in the breeze.
When all was safely pegged, they stood and eyed the white perfection. But a flock of noisy magpies swooped and swirled in their direction! They aimed for Mother's washing, causing splish and splash and stain!'Oh well' said Olive's mother, we must do it all again!'

Update
I think I'm going to do well in my classes this summer. I REALLY like only taking 2 classes at a time. And it's pretty much like only taking one since math is so easy.
I bought these 2 drawings yesterday...I think they're cute...

Finally Something to Blog About
So lately I've been reading all different nursing blogs. I added a few to my Dailies list and you should read them. It's making me realize that nursing will not be as easy as I thought it would - probably just like my job now, but harder. But at least we can find humor in it and get it out in a healthy way (blogging). Here's an amazing story from the Krusty Ambulance Driver...not for the faint at heart. Almost makes me want to become an EMT....http://crustyambulancedriver.blogspot.com/2008/06/pez-dispenser.html

My Mom Goes To College...she does...
Community College is easy....I wish I could do it all the time. My mom and I are in the same math class... that's interesting and fun.
Today I looked at a Protozoa from some nasty pond water - I looked at it in a microscope and it was moving around and it was so fast! And it kept eating this fury looking thing that I'm guessing was algae. That was so cool. Maybe I'll major in Biology....

Mother's Day
This Mother's Day I decided to make a cake. It took a long time - but it was fun. I also ate too much frosting...but I'll work that off tomorrow. Here's some pictures..... :)

Sadie hard at work on the computer.

I also got to babysit my cousins while my aunt and uncle are in England for about a week or so. That was fun. School starts tomorrow and I am really excited! I've never just taken 2 classes before. But I have a feeling that even though they're easy peasy I'm about to be stressed out - especially with having to drive down to Orem everyday to work. But Friday will be a good de-stresser because we're going on another hike! Mad and Jewels - if you're reading this - Fridays must be our hike day.

Flava Flave!
I've had a crazy weekend - but oh so much fun. My friend asked me how I was doing and I said good. Really good actually. That makes me happy - because it's true! I got to go to Women's Conference with my mom and grandma which was great. I also got to go to a friends wedding reception. I also got to party with all of my bestest friends and then have no sleep to be at work by 6am - two days in a row. I am perfectly able to sacrifice my sleep in the name of fun and memories. Even if it means I'm going to fall asleep while driving home... Here are some pictures - because face it, we only really look at blogs for the pictures.
